ANSYS Matrix50 is a kind of element that is used in the ANSYS substructuring analysis, which condenses a group of finite elements into one element represented as a matrix. This single-matrix element named Matrix50 is also called a superelement (short as SE). ANSYS MATRIX50 element type is often used in the ANSYS modeling for various reasons. ACS SASSI provides new capabilities that let the user convert his ANSYS model having Matrix50 into the ACS SASSI runnable model. This Module allows the user two ways of converting the matrix 50 elements.

• The SE-to-GE approach is to convert the Matrix50 elements into a bunch of ACS SASSI GENERAL elements equivalently.
• The Add SE COO approach is to assemble Matrix50 element K/M/C matrices to the K/M/C of the model without those Matrix50 elements directly. The generated COOs can serve as inputs of option-AA.

• Super Element Operation – Radio option box where the user can choose between the SE-to-GE and Add SE COO conversion process. Each option requires a different set of data. When the user selects a conversion process any data entry that is not required by that conversion will be disabled.
• Matrix50 (SE) COO Storage Directory – directory where the Matrix50 elements reside. This directory is also where the SE utility input file will be written.
• Main Structure COO Directory – Directory where the main structures COO data is residing (Add SE COO only)
• Number of Matrix50 elements – number of .sub files to be processed
• General Matrix ID Start – The matrix id number which starts the output file (SE-to-GE only)
• General Element Group ID Start – The group number which starts the output file (SE-to-GE only)
• ANSYS Matrix50 Files (.sub) – names of the Matrix50 files in Matrix50 (SE) COO Storage Directory to be converted
• Add – Adds the name in the edit box next to the Add button to the list box below
• Remove – removes the highlighted file name form the list box
• SE Utility input file name – The name of the input file to the Module. This file contains the super element file data entered in this window.
• General Element Output File Directory – The directory where the results are to be stored (SE-to-GE only)
• General Element Output File (.pre) – The name of the *.pre where the converted super element data is stored (SE-to-GE only)
