Animation Database

ACS-SASSI User Interface uses the OpenGL 4.0 which allow for near real-time animation and manipulation of large models. The large quantities of data required to display the animation are streamed to the video card instead of being processed by the CPU. For efficiency, the data output to the video card must be in a binary format when being read for animation. SASSI User Interface will process the frames from the modules using the ProcFrame command or when the user chooses to process frames from the plot menu.

When the user Processes the frames the SASSI User Interface will read the frame files from an animation file listing and convert the data into binary files. The Location of these files is determined by the user at the time of processing and stored in the animation database. The Animation database will store the location of the binary frames and some meta data on the frames in the animation. The animation database is an XML file stored in the same folder as SASSIdb.xml and SASSIini.xml. Once processing of the animation is complete the user will have all of the animation frames stored on the hard drive in a binary format and the location and metadata about the animation stored in the database. After this process user does not need to process the animation again on this machine

When the user attempts to plot animation in the SASSI User Interface the user will see a popup window with a list of all the animations that have been processed. The Data for the animations is held withing this file.
