====== SHEAR Command ======

SHEAR,<panel>,[fc],[fy],[Pn],[Nu],[bre],[bys]

This command will calculate the shear strength of a panel. The command will provided results for 4 different shear equations (ACI 318-08, Wood1990, Barda1977 and Gulec-Whittaker2009 ) as well as the boundary conditions for Wood and ACI 318-08 equations. The model data will be used to calculate the appropriate height,width and areas for each shear equation. The rest of the data will be provided by the user in the arguments of the command. Any optional argument left blank will be set to 0 by default. The shear command uses the models gravity definition to determine of the model is in metric or English units.  The user should provide the arguments in the units specified below based on the model. The results of the shear equations will will be reported in kips or kN

  * panel - panel number. If panel = 0 shear will be calculated for all panels defined by the user and reported in a space separated table with the shear equation results for each panel on a row. The columns of the table are panel number, upper bound, (ACI 318-08), Wood(1990), lower bound, Barda(1977), Gulec-Whittaker(2009) 
  * fc - compressive strength (ksi or kN/m<sup>2</sup>)
  * fy - reinforcement yield strength (ksi or kN/m<sup>2</sup>) 
  * Pn - web reinforcement ratio
  * Nu - axial force (kips or kN)
  * bre - boundary element reinforcement area (ft<sup>2</sup> or m<sup>2</sup>)
  * bys - boundary element reinforcement yield strength (ksi or kN/m<sup>2</sup>)

**Note(s)**: Gulec-Whittaker2009 is sensitive to the panel Height/Length aspect ratio. If UB is reporting a panel an ultimate shear close to Barda(1977) or ACI 318-08 results the panel has an extreme aspect ratio and the user should split that panel into more panels.
